The Five Star Edit only features carefully selected and truly exceptional hotels & resorts from around the world, so what’s our methodology and criteria in selection?

We undertake a thorough research process for each hotel, including a review of public reviews on Expedia, booking.com, and TripAdvisor to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. We confirm accreditations with official rating systems and highly regarded industry associations such as Forbes Travel Guide, AAA Diamond Ratings & Michelin Star Awards (food and beverage). We also retain our own editorial judgement in the selection process.
​Secondly, where possible, we review hotels through first-hand stays or trusted contributors' insights, supported by editorial research, verified guest feedback, official ratings, location, service standards and amenities.
